Commissions
A commissioned pet portrait is a timeless way to celebrate the unique bond you share with your animal companion through detailed, hand-drawn artwork. Unlike photographs, a custom portrait offers a meaningful, personal keepsake that you can treasure for years. Whether you’re looking to celebrate your pet, create a thoughtful gift, or memorialise a beloved companion, a commissioned portrait provides a lasting and special tribute.
Below is the step-by-step process for commissioning your own pet portrait:

Sizes & Prices
The first step is to choose the size of your portrait. You can select either a classic rectangular or a square format. If you’re unsure which shape would suit your reference photos best, I’m happy to offer recommendations.
It’s also important to consider where the portrait will be displayed in your home—whether it’s placed on a side table or as a centrepiece on a wall, the size and scale of the artwork will make a big difference.

I do require a non-refundable £50 deposit to secure your commission. This will go towards your portrait and the final payment will be made upon completion.

Please note: All of my commissions are unframed.

Reference Photos
To create the best possible portrait, I’ll need a high-quality, clear headshot of your pet, taken at eye level. It’s important that the photo captures your pet’s expression and personality—ideally with a good, clear view of their eyes! Natural lighting works best, either outdoors or indoors near a window, avoiding harsh shadows or direct sunlight.

I typically work from one main reference photo, but sending a few additional images is really helpful for getting a better sense of your pet’s character. If you're unsure whether your photos are suitable, feel free to email me a selection. I’ll be happy to offer advice and let you know which ones will work best.
A good tip: holding a treat near the camera can help get their attention!

If your pet has sadly passed away, I completely understand. I’ll always do my best to work with the photos you have available.

Please note: I do need original images—no screenshots or heavily cropped photos.
